What rough beast, indeed.
We're about a month away from that ultimate empty suit, that vapid stuffed shirt, that insipid channeler of the information illiterate zeitgeist taking the reins of power in the good old US of A.
It's somewhat amazing that Big T has senators and representatives, people who tend to think of themselves as important and powerful in their own right, holding contests to see who can abdicate as much of their branch's oversight to the almighty T.
As if that weren't bad enough, we've got the world's wealthiest man running around as if anyone elected him to do anything. We truly live in interesting times. How low down the intelligence chain do you have to be to consider that you helped strike a blow against the "elites" by electing a paper billionaire and empowering his actually wealthy puppet master to legislate from the Xitter?
It remains to be seen how long Big T, whose main concern in life is appearing to be the one in charge, will be able to stomach the obvious fact that his enabler is the one with the power and the platform. Trump has tended to deal with people smarter than he is by firing them or marginalizing them (see pretty much all of his previous staff, even advisors like John Bolton and Steve Bannon, who reprehensible though they may be are still miles ahead of T in the IQ department).
The best lack all conviction, while the worst are full of passionate intensity.
